Life as a taxi driver is intense, even more so in a large city, and especially if that city is New York. Ryan Weideman photographed it for forty years, also shaping in his images the changes that took place in his surroundings.

When he arrived in the city in 1980, after graduating from the California College of Arts & Crafts, his pretensions were a long way from driving a taxi in the next few decades, but the $ 300 he had in his pocket was not enough to live and he had to look for other means of subsistence. That was how he arrived at the taxi, without giving up doing street photography, the goal that he had led, at first, to the city of skyscrapers.

Its purpose: to make the astronauts working in the ISS stay connected to their place of origin through their images.

Schwartz was completing a Master's degree in photography when, inspired by Kodak's 1888 motto "You Press the Button, We Do the Rest", sent Diana cameras to more than 100 important photographers of the time, some of whom were Ansel Adams, Richard Avedon, Emmet Gowin, Robert Heineken and Larry Fink, to return the reel for processing. The project was never published by Schwartz but, after his death in 2014, his daughter Sophie has recuperated his work.

Arctic glaciers have been suffering from these consequences for decades, and they are gradually disappearing. Glaciers are a clear testimony to the aftermath of global warming.

Christian Aslund, is a Swedish photographer who works with Greenpeace as an activist in defense of glaciers. The photographer made a series of photographs of the glaciers at the beginning of the century to counter them with other historical preserved by the Instituto Polar de Noruega to support the campaign #MyClimateAction, a National Geographic initiative in protest against the perforation of the Arctic by the Oil companies. In the images we show you below you can clearly see the effects of thawing.
